Drones. Beer. Crazy demonstrations involving hot dogs…Yeah, it’s shaping up to be quite an experience.
GENERATE, the future of buying the Big O!, is attracting an eclectic and growing roster of inaugural “Experience Makers,” local businesses that will be showcasing their products and services in dynamic fashion next month. Midwest Woodworkers, the Chamber’s June Small Business of the Month, was among the first to sign on.
“I like the new concept,” said Gerry Phelan, owner – Midwest Woodworkers. “I think it will make the event more exciting for attendees, and it gives me a chance to actively exhibit a great product.”
That product is the SawStop table saw. Phelan will employ a tried-and-true “hot dog demo” to show how the innovative machine prevents injuries.
“It’s fast, loud and impressive – that should ‘generate’ some excitement,” he says.
The tech team from Omaha accounting firm Lutz is also stoking the buzz – by bringing the drones. Attendees will have a chance to give them a whirl and win prizes. Another Experience Maker, Ruckus Wireless, in conjunction with P&L Technology, will provide wireless bandwidth for the event. Brickway Brewery isn’t sitting on the sidelines, choosing instead to reimagine what it means to participate in a trade show and let their creativity flow.
GENERATE, a more progressive member-to-member meeting ground, takes over Il Palazzo on Thursday, Aug. 27 from 4 – 7 p.m. It also takes the place of the Buy the Big O! Show – a jolt to the status quo that will help ensure creative new experiences that offer innovation, relevance and meaningful connections to our members.
