It’s almost time for take-off! With more than 17,000 students ready to launch, Careerockit, the region’s largest annual student/business intensive learning experience, is targeting area organizations committed to connecting students with hands-on, all-in learning that makes “real-world” experiences readily accessible.
A collaborative initiative of the Greater Omaha Chamber that connects area businesses with school districts in six counties, Careerockit provides students and young adults with opportunities to pump up learning through career chats, visits and presentations.
Organizations participating in the program are paired with elementary through post-secondary students to widen understanding of potential career choices and develop interest areas early in students’ school involvement.
“Attracting and retaining talent starts right here, in our region. Last year, Careerockit launched with unprecedented community support. More than 90 organizations built nearly 12,000 incredible, hands-on learning experiences for area students. Already, students, educators and business partners are responding with high enthusiasm this year, and we are motivated by the opportunities this program offers tomorrow’s workforce,” said David G. Brown, president and CEO, Greater Omaha Chamber.
Careerockit launches February 12-18, 2018. Business registration closes December 15, 2017.
If you have an hour to offer, the Careerockit kids want to hear from you.
