Omaha, Neb., April 22, 2022 – The Greater Omaha Chamber released the following quotes regarding Google’s data center expansion into Omaha announced yesterday:
“Google’s expansion is fantastic news for Omaha. When a world-renowned company like Google chooses to grow again in a region, it means results are exceeding expectations. Not only are major companies coming to the Greater Omaha area, they are doubling down and investing more,” said David Brown, President and CEO for the Greater Omaha Chamber.
“I would like to thank Google for its investment and its belief in our city. Their previous investment in Papillion and Council Bluffs brought attention, jobs, revenue and momentum to the Greater Omaha area and I expect the opening of the new data center to bring great results as well,” said Todd Johnson, Senior Vice President, Economic Development for the Greater Omaha Chamber.
“We are pleased to have worked alongside the Google team for the last year and a half to expand their operations into Douglas County. The amount of investment from Google across the metropolitan region, both in Iowa and Nebraska has been tremendous. Our region continues to be a major draw for data centers due to our low-cost renewable power, excellent connectivity, and our overall positive business environment. We thank Google for their continued investment and confidence in our region,” said Mark Norman Senior Director, Business Attraction and Expansion.
