Omaha, Neb, April 1, 2022 – The Greater Omaha Chamber Young Professionals (YP) held the nation’s largest gathering of young professionals yesterday – the YP Summit, hosted at the CHI Health Center Omaha. This year’s conference, the 17th annual, brought together young professionals for a full day of education, inspiration and connection.
The Greater Omaha Chamber Young Professionals began in 2003 with the goal of providing opportunities, experiences and a voice for young professionals throughout the Omaha region. In 2005, the YP Council launched an event catalyzing our mission to attract, develop, and retain young professionals in the Greater Omaha area through engagement, opportunity, and advocacy – known as the YP Summit.
“YP Summit is really something extraordinary for our community. Our Omaha young professional community is actively seeking opportunities to both professionally and personally develop—YP Summit truly fits that demand. It is inspiring to watch young professionals invest in their individual futures and it is equally encouraging to see organizations invest in and prioritize their young professional workforce,” said CJ Kracl, Manager, Greater Omaha Young Professionals.
The YP Summit this year included 15 breakout sessions, remarks from Mayor Jean Stothert, and two keynote speakers – Journalist, Author & Entrepreneur, Gaby Natale and Performance Painter, David Garibaldi. In addition, the YP Summit’s previously announced Change Makers gave inspirational remarks concerning their own unique journeys.
“At the YP Summit, we looked at how we, as the future of the regional workforce and leadership, can make a difference from right here, in the middle of everywhere. From here, in the heart of America, we can think and act in such a way to improve our lives, our community and the entire world,” said Darius Christensen, Chairperson of the YP Summit.
At the conclusion of the YP Summit, attendees were challenged to take their Summit experience, activate curiosity and cultivate growth within the community. They were then told to save the date for the 2023 YP Summit which will be held at the CHI Health Center, on Friday, March 24.
