Here’s How Greater Omaha Excels at the Resolution Revolution
Ask an expert how to morph a New Year’s resolution into reality, and you’ll get a host of responses, from “sticking to it” to “setting reasonable expectations.”
Like it or not, though, more than 80 percent of resolutions fail by February, reports Psychology Today and U.S. News and World Report.
Not so here in the Metro. We’re poised to beat the odds, with resolution success characterized by realities such as riverfront revitalization, Conagra campus redevelopment and an upcoming Annual Meeting that promises to springboard Greater Omaha into a trajectory of achievement.
In fact, David G. Brown, our president and CEO, is calling 2019 “another year to thrive,” marked by “a wave of optimism” that matches our We Don’t Coast spirit.
It’s that same spirit, you, the unicorns of Omaha, the go-getters, “one-of-a-kinders” and all-around exceptional human beings personify in this charmed community of collaborators.
Take the March of Dimes March for Babies, for example, which aspires to keep area infants healthy, and the Women’s Fund of Omaha’s ambitious initiatives to continuously improve the lives of women and girls. Add these endeavors to Project Harmony’s history of protecting and supporting children, and the promise of better tomorrows as a birthright is in our sights.
On the innovation front, The Startup Collaborative, a program of the Greater Omaha Chamber, is incubating the latest in new technology, with emerging ideas transforming into exciting opportunities daily. Case in point: My Stature, a budding apparel option, that’s taking tailored clothes to new heights.
New beginnings are abundant in the area, as well, with ribbon cuttings for Scooter’s Coffee, Oklahoma Joe’s and Watts Coworking, all in January.
No doubt about it, Greater Omaha, you’ve got the goods on making things, well, great.
Maybe that’s why Omaha was recently named the No. 2 spot for optimal careers for millennials, and area executives are teeing up young professionals to share their powerful perspectives at this year’s March 15 YP Summit.
Now, whether you resolve to revolutionize your personal progress, or hope to elevate others’ endeavors, know that each day, the splash you make in this no-coast community creates waves that resonate with power, purpose and passion. This is your Greater Omaha. Your future. Your forecast. Your forward-momentum, fueled by a 2019 that’s all you can dream.
Go get ‘em, Greater Omaha!
