The Power of One Day

What difference can one day make? In Omaha, one day of domestic violence included 404 victims served, 171 hotline calls and 85 unmet requests for services because shelters were full. (Source: National Network to End Domestic Violence). The impact of one day of domestic violence can include years of court proceedings, medical costs, housing needs and mental health challenges.

YOU can make a difference in one day by participating in the 1st Annual Survivors Rising 5K walk/run. Survivors Rising is a working group of survivors for survivors. Proceeds from the 5K will support legislative advocacy, educational programs to assist survivors’ resilience and a survivors’ speakers bureau.
