When Nicholas Lemek, an Omaha firefighter of 13 years, surveyed the Omaha industry landscape for highly qualified security agencies, he realized there was a market that needed to be addressed.
“We began Elite Tactical Security & Protection in 2018 to fill the void for clients that needed protection above basic armored vehicle transport companies with low-level security guards,” Lemek said. “We specialize in secure transport, site security, personal protection, security patrol, as well as security consultation and ATM cash servicing.”

Lemek’s idea was to create a company that provided more than just the stereotypical “rent-a-cop.” Plus, it was no secret that security personnel in the area weren’t compensated correctly, which had a trickle-down effect on the quality of agents being utilized in the field.
“Security is often seen as an expense, but at Elite, we see it as an investment for both the client and the agent,” said Lemek. “All our agents receive initial International Foundation for Protection Officers (IFPO) security officer training and we also reimburse our agents any advanced training they may take to better improve the service we provide our clients.”
Team members are current and former military and law enforcement officers with combat experience and extensive training in security best practices and de-escalation.
